NYC Pain MD’s Medical Staff Spare No expense in Bringing The Best Medical Technology For Our Patients

While SoftWave is new on the scene here in the U.S., the medical community has embraced this technology for the past 15 years.

What is soft wave tissue regenerative technology?

The Soft Wave Engineers have patented this advanced therapeutic technology that produces unique “unfocused” parallel healing acoustic waves. Some call the treatments “Shockwave” – not because it shocks you – but because of the buzzing sound hear while getting treated.

This is not a simple machine that you see advertised online or buy at a pharmacy and is only available at medical centers focusing on orthopedic pain treatment… and must be prescribed and applied by trained medical personnel.

 THE RESULT:

The special patented wave applicator applied to your painful or debilitated injury spreads the healing acoustic energy to a large area of both superficial

and DEEP tissue. It creates a wider and deeper therapeutic energy zone.   This is what stimulates the strongest biological response initiating healing… more mobility… and relief like no other known

therapeutic modality.  It solicits your body’s natural healing process promoting the release of your resident stem cells to get you better results . . . and faster, longer-lasting results.

What exactly happens when you get a SoftWave Treatment?

SoftWave’s advanced acoustic wave device and therapy produce the following responses:

Increases blood supply
Modulates and reduces inflammation
Stimulates and activates stem cells
Accelerates wound healing

Repairs, remodels and regenerates tissue
Initiates an anti-bacterial effect

Reduces acute and chronic pain

This advanced technology helps more patients by successfully turning on the body’s natural healing process

What Is It Like To Have A SoftWave Treatment? Is The Treatment Painful?

No. The treatment is NOT painful but may elicit some mild soreness over the treated area. There is a buzzing or clicking sound created by the technology and the therapeutic sound waves which is why some call it  “ShockWave” but you will NOT feel or be “shocked” in any manner.  You’ll just feel better.

Each treatment takes 10 to 15 minutes but may be longer dependent on your own individual treatment needs.., and number of areas to be treated.  A special conductive gel is used to “couple” and help transmit the wave to the area being treated.

Is The Treatment Safe?

Resoundingly – YES.  SoftWave is FDA cleared for pain reduction, increasing blood supply and activating connective tissue. Even patients who have surgical joint implants can safely treat… and many get excellent results for post-surgical pain or failures.

While the expert doctors at NYC Pain MD will review your case history prior to considering any treatment, there are few issues that would prohibit a patient from undergoing SoftWave Treatment.  This would include pregnancy, underlying cancer, electric implants like a pacemaker and several others.

How Long Will It Take To Get Results?

The majority of patients will note a 20-50% or greater improvement on the very first treatment.  Eliciting a long term healing response takes several treatments and some time to reach maximum improvement

How Many Treatments Do You Need?

This a case-by-case process determined by the medical staff at NYC Pain MD.  On average, most patients complete a protocol of care within 8 or so treatments over a several weeks.  Some need 2x weekly for a few weeks but weekly treatments are getting excellent results as well.
