Many patients we've evaluated have asked about the need for knee bracing.
While a simple knee ‘sleeve” or “copper’ support probably won’t hurt, wearing certain types of braces that are wrongly placed, or at the wrong time could actually result in aggravating your condition.
If your condition is moderate to severe, keep in mind there is a real science to bracing. There are numerous brace models available. Some are called “single upright” and some “double upright” and there are many other models in between. Determining which one is best for you should be through the evaluation of an expert doctor or trained orthotist.
Our free screening evaluations can help figure out if you need bracing, how to fit it and how to use it.
